Busy Busy Busy...
Sorry I haven't posted in awhile, life has just been crazy working 40+ hours a week and finishing up school in the next few weeks. I have 2 6-8 page papers to write, one of which is a research paper on Hamlet. Exciting.... not really. But I will be glad when it is all done!
Life has been going well, except I now have the contract on my desk to sign that makes me committ my social habits to the church (no more alcohol or tabacco products :-( oh yea, gotta stop the narcodics too!). It's all good though, it's worth it to give all that up for the sake of the job I have now. Besides, how much do those things actually do for me besides distract me? Oh well, a side issue from the greater things in life.
Well on another note, I think I have finished decorating my office, besides adding a few posters on blank walls, but here's a pic of what it looks like.

Volume...
So how much is too much? or should I say how loud is too loud? Who decides this? I am bringing this up in relation to a discussion we had today on the volume for the sunday services. This has been an issue because people complain to Knute about how the volume is too loud. The problem is there is no real definitin for the complaints... Here are a few possibilities.
1. It is an actually unpleasnt decibile level.
2. They can't hear the choir or worship leader vocal.
3. They don't like the newer style of music (percieved loudness, aka. guitar=demon stick).
4. They are just old! :-)
So here is the real question. Do you run the levels at a volume that fills the room and tries to bring the attender into the worship expierence? Or do you run the volume at a level that makes everyone happy (or at least the squeaky wheel)?
well thoughts from today...
